Time lapses

Time lapses
In the corners of my eyes
A surprise when I turn
And see the sun rising
in the mirror
Everything is
Shifting and sliding
Like a chord changing in
arrangement of a symphony
In sympathy for the
flying of time

In the distance
There are minutes, lapping
at the edges of the ocean
Hinting at the loneliness
But time takes a breath
With emotion
and pauses
for a moment,
motionless
Time is never standing
Between you and I

    1. Oh my goodness Frank. It’s really wonderful to hear from you. I’ve been MIA for a while it’s true. I hope you are ok too. I need to visit beach walks, winter is closing in on me, I need to borrow some of your warmer sea breeze.

    1. Drew…. Time does lapse doesn’t it. Sometimes you blink your eyes and all of a sudden too much time has passed and it feels like you’ve left things too long. Being in touch with you is one of those things. I’m sorry, and I hope very much that you are well. How are you? ❤️

      1. Doing very well. After that heart scare last year, I had my own personal Covid scare in March. My heart and bones keep telling me it is a sign. Enjoy life. Let the computer and blog be.

Life is much too short my dear. I am living every second, cherishing every breath.

Missed you terribly. I survived 2020 because of you.

      2. Dear friends/fellow poets, please forgive me but could not help but notice this beautiful convo, and wanted to interject that I absolutely loved Drew’s amazing podcast-style poetry jam on youtube – Drew, you are a great and perfect and funny and fun host in it, from what saw of the ones I listened to, in the beginning… (I had trouble finding the links to them later in your posts, some glitch in WP I suppose as they do show up for me again now, so I will have another go, when I get another mo’ :)) …it was very creative, and I hope for the sake of poets and poetry-lovers everywhere that you one day continue with it… though I understand that health comes first and all the online stuff can be a challenge to manage/deal with (certainly for me at least)… just wanted to let you know, though you’ve likely heard it enough already. Anyway, I feel the same, that breathing and cherishing life in general is most important though. Wishing a lovely spring/summer, to each/both/all of you… and maybe see you around, going with the flow. :)) xoxo 💗🔆🌊 p.s. Rachel, once again, was so good to see you reappear!! You are wonderful. :)) p.p.s. No need to reply to this way too rambling comment lol. Sending hugs and rainbows :)))

    1. I rescued it G!!! It was in the spam folder, I really hate it when WordPress does this. Yes, time has lapsed my dear G, but it does feel good to be back when it means I get to connect with people I’ve missed so much, like you.

I am OK, I don’t know why but I just hit the wall with writing and life in general for a while. And I’ve been so busy, Ive worried I won’t have enough time to commit to it. But I think I’m in a better place for that now. We’ll see. I suspect I may be a bit sporadic.

I hope you are ok too, my wonderful and inspirational friend. Your words never, ever cease to inspire. Thank you, for being you xoxoxox

      1. Rachel, thank you for finding the comment and for reply.Ingrid. Your friendship means the world to me. I said it too many times. Rachel I wish you all the best in the world from the bottom of my heart. I think I am well but also I think I hit the wall in many aspects too. Then I try to convince myself that there is no wall. I have choices. It’s easy to think like this and harder to internalize this type of thinking. I try.
Everyone loves you here. Everyone will understand if you show up only from time to time. Do only what makes you comfortable. Why am I telling you this? You know better than I. As for me I will patiently wait to read your beautiful verses and hope that you are ok. Sending you love and plenty of hugs 🌸🤗🥰🌹❤️🌸🤗🥰🌹❤️

      2. Oh G “Then I try to convince myself that there is no wall. I have choices. It’s easy to think like this and harder to internalize this type of thinking. I try.” Me too. It’s exhausting sometimes isn’t it.
You, my friend, are simply amazing. How about we get in a convertible car, let our hair blow wildly in the wind and go on a joyride around that wall.? We can take turns behind the wheel.
Love and plenty of hugs back to you Xoxoxox

      3. My fabulous Rachel.. “It’s exhausting sometimes isn’t it.” It’s beyond exhausting.

“How about we get in a convertible car, let our hair blow wildly in the wind and go on a joyride around that wall.? ” Yes, let’s do that and then go to Hawaii as we talked before. Spectacular views, hula, orchids, outdoors spas. No walls 🙂

“We can take turns behind the wheel.” You will have a drive around that wall sweetheart. I can’t drive now. I injured my right shoulder. I may need surgery. I don’t know yet.

Sending you boats filled with flowers and love.

  4. I’ve just caught up with this love poem … maybe this one deserves an Ivor quote …
“From every moment there is a second
Every second is a piece of time’s errand
Every moment is a part life’s legend” … Ivor
